MaCavity the Cat

Meet MaCavity, a ten-year old cat, who came to us three years ago when a member of her family developed serious allergies. She kept her name (from a character in the Broadway musical, CATS) but we usually call her Macie. The first four months here she hid upstairs under a bed on a blanket from her previous home. Then one day she marched downstairs, confronted the four dogs, and let them know SHE was now the head of the house. That's when we began calling her "Her Majesty, The Queen." MaCavity is sponsored by her prior owner, Kate Thornhill, who pays for her annual vet visits and vaccinations. This year Kate kindly sponsored our other two housecats, Cali and Cora, as well.

Isabelle and Richard Firestone sponsor a female Scottish Highland named Mamie, who arrived in January 2007. Mamie is retired after many years of breeding and raising meat calves. Her unusual horn conformation made her the envy of the "other girls" at her prior farm. She is enjoying retirement, loves to be combed, and is very gentle.

    Charlie

"Hi! My name's Charlie. Who are you?"

"Hey, come here. Gimme a kiss. (kissing sound). I love you!"

If Mom forgets to uncover me in the morning, I yell "Peek-a-boo" when I hear her in the kitchen. At night when the cover goes on, I say "Time to go nite nite." I can say over 350 words and love to laugh because it makes everyone else laugh! I'm an African Grey Parrot and you could sponsor me and my flock-mates (a sun conure, two parakeets, and a cockatiel) for $5.00 a month. That would cover food and the all-important toys!
